Details of a financial package worth £65 million for culture and major events have been confirmed by the Culture Secretary Angus Robertson.

The split of the funding is as follows:

Creative Ambitions is a new online skills programme designed specifically for freelancers in the performing arts and live events sectors, with aims to upskill and retrain so that creatives can realise their full potential.

Forty-seven community groups, museums, and culture and heritage organisations have been supported through the first round of the Community Stories Fund, bringing an exciting programme of storytelling events to all areas of Scotland as part of the Year of Stories 2022.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has announced the breakdown of a lifeline £100 million financial package to support businesses experiencing cancellations due to the rapid spread of the new Omicron variant.

The £100 million support package is broken down into:

Communities play a crucial role in encouraging others to walk and cycle by making places more enjoyable to travel through or to. By encouraging more people to walk and cycle, traffic congestion is reduced, public health improves and carbon emissions and air pollution is lowered.

Sustrans is a charity that aims to make it easier for people to walk and cycle and as part of that mission they are delivering the ArtRoots NCN fund, a community fund for artistic and aesthetic improvements to traffic-free paths along the National Cycle Network in Scotland. 

The Youth Music Recharge Fund offers grants of up to £90k to boost organisations in their post-Covid recovery.

This core funding programme is for established not-for-profit organisations who support children and young people to make, learn or earn in music. It will help people and organisations to recharge from the effects of the pandemic. 

Moniack Mhor, Scotland's National Writing Centre, is delighted to be opening its doors again to a full residential programme with a selection of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, picturebook and crime writing courses and retreats. 

As creative groups start to meet up in person again, Creative Lives is offering 18 micro-grants of £300 each to help make that happen.
