Scottish Rural Action have launched their full Manifesto for Rural Scotland.
The manifesto was released in draft form in September 2016 and was officially launched at the Scottish Rural Action AGM in Perth on 9 December.
During the second Scottish Rural Parliament event held in Brechin, Angus in October, delegates had the chance to propose changes to the wording and additions to the content of the manifesto before it was agreed on by those in attendance at the event.

Six projects to benefit Orkney's communities and economy have secured support from the latest rounds of Orkney LEADER funding.
So far, the current Orkney LEADER programme has awarded grant funding of over £460,000 to eight community driven, innovative projects, with a total value of over £1 million of project investment.

Dumfries and Galloway Local Action Group had their latest meeting on 17 November 2016 and approved three projects, awarding £178,949.95 in total.

A small Scottish hostel has made it to the finals of a biennial European Commission Award designed to recognise businesses at the forefront of eco-innovation.
The European Business Award for the Environment supports the growing number of enterprises that put protecting the environment at the very heart of their work.

The Scottish Seabird Centre have announced that the architects who worked on their award-winning building in North Berwick will work on the National Marine Centre project.
Simpson & Brown Architects specialise in conservation projects, creative adaption of existing buildings and the design of environmentally-sound initiatives. The original Scottish Seabird Centre, opened in May 2000, has become a popular landmark building and has won several architectural and sustainability awards.

North Aberdeenshire LEADER have awarded a grant to a new glamping venture, which is hoped will boost tourism in the area.
A grant of up to £33,548.62 has been awarded to the Buchan Development Initiative to help install a new glamping area in the Aden Caravan and Camping Park.

Three projects have been awarded funding from the South Aberdeenshire LEADER programme.
In the programme's first funding rounds, the South Aberdeenshire LEADER Local Action Group has awarded £225,475 to the following projects:

In this event report, Don Morrison from the Scottish Rural Network Support Unit reports on the recent cooperation event in Estonia, and Kim Ritchie from Angus LEADER tells us about the Local Action Group tour she took part in as part of the event.
The recent Transnational Cooperation (TNC) Fair held in Estonia was attended by a number of Scottish representatives including delegates from Angus and Cairngorms LEADER as well as Don Morrison and Alistair Prior from the Scottish Rural Network.
