Scottish Government, in partnership with the third sector, are exploring the possibility of developing a question for the Scottish Household Survey which will measure informal volunteering.

This workshop will present current research in this field and generate a collaborative discussion across practice, policy and research to influence what this question looks like.

The workshop will explore:

  • what informal and formal volunteering looks like in Scottish communities
  • how people talk about ‘helping out’ and volunteering
  • how informal volunteering fits with volunteer involving practice and current policy agendas

Volunteer Scotland invite you to share your knowledge and experience to help this process, and inform your own professional practice, in particular those:

  • developing policies and/or indicators around community participation and/or wellbeing in Scotland
  • involving volunteers in your organisation or group
  • community building initiatives
  • researching volunteering or community participation

Places are limited please book as soon as possible.

To book your place e-mail Pamela.allan@volunteerscotland.org.uk

Let Volunteer Scotland know if you’re not able to attend but would like to be part of the process.  They will send you updates and opportunities to feed into the conversation ‘virtually’.
