The Barbour family will introduce their family farm Mains of Fincastle, a 540 Ha beef and sheep hill farm in Perthshire.

They will discuss why to plant trees, their objectives, the process and challenges and how they have successfully integrated trees into their farming business providing multiple benefits from shelter and shade, increase in productivity to carbon capture.

There will also be a speaker from Scottish Forestry joining to discuss funding and first steps to woodland creation. As this is a farmer-led network please come along and bring your questions and ideas to help us guide future events. 

The Integrating Trees Network is a project facilitated by Scottish Forestry and Scottish Government, to promote the many benefits of integrating trees on your land. A demonstrator network of farms, crofts and estates will host events, providing an informative and supportive network for other farmers and crofters who are considering planting trees.
