Making Woodland Work for You: Creation, management and funding on the west coast

A practical walk and talk day exploring woodland creation and management in the environment of the west coast. Includes:

  • Visit to Crannich Farm on Mull, where Sam and Robin Sedgwick have been planting and managing trees for 17 years for wood fuel and shelter, as well as to increase farm wildlife and improve soil health
  • Hands-on planting demonstrations, including mechanical tree planting
  • Advice on grant funding, tree species, planning and management from Scottish Forestry, Woodland Trust, Soil Association Scotland and Argyll Small Woods Cooperative
  • A chance to meet other farmers, crofters and woodland managers, ask questions and trade knowledge to help you plan

Free of charge to crofters, farmers, woodland managers and land managers. Lunch is included.
