You can have your say on the future Culture Strategy by attending events, holding your own event or contributing online.

The Scottish Government is developing a Culture Strategy for Scotland. The culture strategy is being developed over a number of phases. They are currently in the engagement phase, gathering ideas and views through Scotland-wide Culture Conversations.

They want to hear your views and ideas about culture in Scotland, and the direction it should take, as well as the main challenges and issues you think the strategy should seek to address.

Attend an event

The Scottish Government is holding events in different parts of the country to encourage anyone who has an interest in a strategy to engage with them and contribute to #scotlandscultureconversation.

The following events are still to take place:

In partnership with Young Scot and the Scottish Youth Parliament they are also hosting A Culture Strategy for Scotland: future of culture in Scotland Facebook live event on 29 November 2017.

A number of organisations across the country are also holding their own events to feed into the discussions. You can find details of these events on the Scottish Government website.

Hold your own event

You can also hold your own event. The Scottish Government has developed a Culture Conversation resource pack to enable anyone who has an interest to host their own discussions on the culture strategy, and to feed into the early thinking on the strategy.

Submit anonymised feedback from your Culture Conversation by 5pm on Thursday 30 November 2017 on the form provided in the resource pack.

A Gaelic version of the resource pack is available by emailing culturestrategy@gov.scot.

Have your say on the online discussion forum

There is an online discussion forum to support the development of a culture strategy for Scotland. To get the conversation started, we have included a number of questions to stimulate debate, but the platform also allows you to add further ideas – please feel free to do so.

Follow the instructions to register as a user on the site.
