In conjunction with Women in Agriculture Scotland and the Royal Bank of Scotland a virtual event has been announced to include three business women who have led through innovation to grow their business during the lock down .

They will also share their inspirational story on how they were able to support their wider business community and families during this unprecedented time.

The 1st speaker will be June Geyer. June's business is Geyer Plant Services based in Dunfermline. The main operations are engineering in agriculture and construction while running a beef and arable unit.

During the presentation June will tell through innovation how her business started making weights for customers. This was due to gyms being closed at lockdown and there was a demand in the market place for this product.

The next speaker will be Elspeth Goldie from Craighead Nurseries, Mauchline, Ayrshire. Elspeth runs a day care nursery on a beef farm. As a result of the coronavirus pandemic her business had to close. During this concerning time Elspeth set up a parents support group to ensure help was available. Elspeth also continued to run the beef farm with her husband while her father in law recovered from an injury. As lock down restrictions ease Elspeth has had to adapt her business to strive forward.

The final speaker on the day will be Debs Roberts from Farmton Farm, Perthshire. Debs runs an organic beef and cereals farm. She also works off farm with SOPA (Scottish Organics Producers Association).

Debs formed a Ladies Lambing Buddy Network during lockdown with her daughter. This is a closed support group which has provided a safe environment. It is also used for sharing knowledge. It now has 6500 members. They have also launched The Cowgirls Uk network which is similar. Debs will tell us what a difference this has made to peoples lives at this time.
