Venue:

Birnam, Perthshire

Agroforestry has multiple benefits for farm businesses and nature, but it’s important to plant the right tree in the right place for the right reasons. Come to this practical design workshop to develop plans that you can take home and carry out.

  • Hear from advisor and designer Niels Corfield, who has 15 years’ experience supporting farmers to develop low maintenance, productive agroecological systems
  • Understand planting options, soil preparation, tree functions and management techniques
  • Learn how to integrate trees and grazing on your farm
  • Work in small groups using Field Margin (a free farm mapping tool) to develop your agroforestry designs

Free and open to farmers, crofters and land managers who plan to plant trees.

Lunch is included. Spaces are limited.

To register interest please contact Clem Sandison by emailing csandison@soilassociation.org

You will be asked to complete a short survey about your design project to help tailor the day to everyone’s needs.
