Oakland Biofuels Ltd in Association with Scottish Land & Estates will demonstrate the equipment, techniques and benefits from harvesting bracken at three demonstrations in Scotland.

Turning bracken from an increasing problem into a harvestable resource meets a number of economic, environmental and health objectives that should be of interest to all stakeholders with an interest in land management and the environment as well as land managers and farmers who have a bracken problem.

Come along and find out more at these events.

There will be two demonstrations in Scotland in September. The first will be at Annandale Estates, St Ann’s, Lockerbie DG11 1HL on 7 September by kind permission of David Johnstone and the second will be at Atholl Estates, Blair Atholl, Pitlochry, Perthshire, PH18 5TH on 9 September by kind permission of Atholl Estates.

Both demonstrations will run from 10am to 4pm, will be signposted and will be showing the innovative equipment in action cutting and baling bracken.

Following on from these there will be two smaller demonstrations on 11 October, again at Atholl Estates featuring only the Brielmaier equipment to demonstrate its ability on other forms of biomass including wetlands and moorland heather, where it can offer an alternative management strategy to burning.
