The Workshop Aberfeldy
Funding:
Total funding package: £71,031; Rural Perth and Kinross LEADER funding: £31,531

The 2018 Scottish Rural Parliament will take place in Stranraer in Dumfries and Galloway on 14th– 16th November. If you live in or are passionate about rural areas in Scotland, you can attend to learn and make your voice heard. This year's theme is "Taking Action".

The event brings together people from rural communities with decision-makers, for three days of celebration and exploration. Participants examine a wide-range of issues affecting rural communities and make recommendations for change.

Following on from the 11th OECD Rural Development Conference in Edinburgh in April, Scotland House in Brussels went on to host the workshop  ‘Enhancing Innovation in Rural Areas: The Experience from Scotland’ in Brussels this June.

One of the most prestigious benchmarks of success in Scotland’s countryside, the Scottish Rural Awards are now in their fifth year and are partnered by Scottish Field and the Scottish Countryside Alliance.

A set of 13 categories are open for nominations, including the coveted Rural Hero award, which recognises those whose contributions to their rural communities have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

What's on the Agenda?

Riverside Inverclyde and Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce are delighted to co-host this event offering businesses both new and existing the opportunity to come together as they look to grow and expand in 2018 and beyond. The event will give businesses the opportunity to present a short pitch to their fellow business community and assist with migration into the area as well as supporting the growth of the existing business base.

It develops the information on household and employment data and points to key challenges for the rural economy including broadband services, and fuel poverty.

You can now apply for micro grants from the Ayrshire LEADER programme.

Up to £5,000 is available for community projects and up to £10,000 for rural enterprise and farm diversification projects.

You can apply for up to 90% of costs and decisions on grant will be made by the end of May 2018. Projects must start within three months of grant offer and be fully claimed back by 31 March 2019.
