A new community-owned distillery in the Highlands will be launching a second community share offer in August.

GlenWyvis Distillery, near Dingwall, has marked its latest construction milestone with the announcement that a new share offer will be launched to meet continuing demand from locals and visitors who want to be part of the world's first 100 percent community-owned whisky distillery.

Dumfries & Galloway LEADER are delighted to confirm that they have awarded just over £740,000 to a number of diverse and innovative projects over the past six months.

Project: Hold the Front Page!

Scottish Rural Action will receive £200,000 from the Scottish Government to support the delivery of their 2017-19 Action Plan.

Scottish Rural Action (SRA) aims to be a powerful voice for the people of rural Scotland. They are a non-profit, apolitical organisation which is completely independent of Government. They have the dual purpose of developing and organising Scotland’s Rural Parliament and supporting the development of a rural movement.

Strengthening Communities National Conference 2017

Highland and Islands Enterprise are hosting a Strengthening Communities National Conference at Aviemore Highland Resort on 21 and 22 September 2017 (lunchtime to lunchtime event). The event will be attended by Angela Constance MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Communities, Social Security and Equalities.

Aero Space Kinross (ASK) have launched a Star Offer to help them reach their Community Share target of £50,000 by the end of June 2017.

The ASK project will be a knowledge hub, exciting visitor attraction and event venue to be enjoyed by the local community and visitors, with features including a planetarium and flight simulation. The project will also inspire future generations into flight-related, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) careers and leisure flying pursuits.
