Moray LEADER information event - Keith

Moray LEADER are running a series of information sessions across the area in September and October.

The evening events are a chance for people to find out about funding available through Moray LEADER and how they might benefit from it.

Everyone is welcome to attend to the events. There will be a presentation about Moray LEADER followed by an opportunity to ask questions.

The developers behind an electricity superhighway connecting the north east and Norway are calling on local people this week to apply for funding from a new community investment fund.

NorthConnect, the 655km subsea interconnector, is setting up the £10,000 Legacy Fund, to be administered by Foundation Scotland, for the benefit of people in Boddam, Longhaven, Cruden Bay, Peterhead, St Fergus, Mintlaw, Burnhaven, Hatton and the surrounding areas.

LEADER Crowdfunding Workshop

This workshop will explore how Angus Council's Economic Development team have used the potential of crowdfunding to enable community groups and businesses to raise capital for projects in Angus’ communities. Angus Council have commissioned a bespoke portal to showcase crowdfunding campaigns and support community groups and businesses to create campaigns that are as likely to achieve the funding target as possible.

Ayrshire Region New Generation Farm Walk and Get Together

Join us on Thursday 14 September 2017 at 7pm to enjoy a farm walk of the Logan family’s Holehouse Farm, Kilbirnie, KA25 7LA.
Holehouse has been in the Logan family for five generations with pedigree Ayrshires since at least the 1930s.
It extends to some 4,000 acres of hill land, 250 acres upland and 750 arable at 370’ to 1,670’ above sea level with an annual rainfall at the steading of 80 inches. As well as the 250 milking cows, there are 350 dairy young stock, 180 mainly Limousin cross suckler cows and 1,750 Scottish Blackface ewes.

Food and drink producers have been awarded a share of almost £3.5 million from the Food Processing, Marketing and Cooperation (FPMC) scheme.

Thirteen businesses are the latest to be awarded grants from the scheme to diversify and expand their operations, including an artisan dairy and a brewing company.

The Lanarkshire LEADER programme has awarded a grant of £69,720 to the WAT IF? community development trust to support the employment of a Development Manager for three years.

Woolfords, Auchengray, Tarbrax Improvement Foundation was established in 2012 and aims to support rural regeneration and community development in the three villages. It also manages the distribution of community benefit funding generated from surrounding local wind farms.

Funding is available to land owners, managers, farmers, crofters and estates to help protect Scotland's peatlands.

Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) has already received more than £4 million of applications to the Peatland Action Fund and wants further applications before the closing date at the end of October.

Rural Payments and Services have produced a short film highlighting how the Scottish Government and the Forestry Commission are preparing the ground for a new generation of farmers.

Beyond 2020: Supporting Europe's Coastal Communities

The Estonian Presidency of the EU and the European Commission are jointly hosting a conference on the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) on 12-13.10.2017.

Stakeholders from all across the EU will convene to discuss how the EMFF is helping to support the implementation of the Common Fisheries Policy and Maritime Policy in the current programming period (2014-2020). The event will also represent the opportunity to discuss the current and future challenges of coastal communities, as well as potential policy responses.
