Scotland’s Volunteering Action Plan led by Volunteer Scotland and the Scottish Government has been launched, with people, places and communities at its heart.

The plan was launched in Glasgow at The Gathering, SCVO’s celebration of Scotland’s voluntary sector.

Last year, with support from the National Transition Training Fund (NTTF), Lantra Scotland ran the Springboard for Rural Skills project to meet the need for a more diverse network of training instructors, with activities ranging from instructional techniques training to mentoring and formal skills assessments.

SRITC Open Cafe & Chat

With no fixed agenda and no presentations, the SRITC Open Cafes are an opportunity to just turn up and chat about whatever rural mobility issues and ideas are on your mind.

From a social standpoint, the cafes are a chance to catch up with old friends and make some new ones as well.

Some of Scotland’s longest standing vacant and derelict sites will be transformed into affordable housing, community gardens and places of enterprise and learning by awards from a £50 million programme, with applications now being accepted for future projects.

AgriScot Scottish Arable Farm of the Year Award applications are now open, with a deadline for submission of 20th June 2022.

Applications are now invited for a fund to support Scottish food and drink suppliers and producers to invest in future growth as part of the Food Processing, Marketing and Cooperation Grant Scheme (FPMC).

The Scottish NEFERTITI Hub is organising a free on-farm demonstration titled ‘What do we mean by Climate Positive Farming?’ at Glensaugh Farm, near Fettercairn on Tuesday 17th May 2022, 12pm-4:30pm.
