Scottish Rural Action has released its draft Action Plan for 2017-19.
Scottish Rural Action (SRA) is a non-profit, apolitical organisation which is completely independent of Government. They are a company formed with the dual purpose of developing and organising Scotland’s Rural Parliament and supporting the development of a rural movement.
The draft Action Plan for 2017-19 focuses on key policy areas as voted for at the Rural Parliament in 2016:

The Woolfords, Auchengray and Tarbrax Improvement Foundation (WAT IF?) has awarded its first driving lesson grant.
Residents in the area can apply for a grant of up to £250 from the development trust to help cover the costs of learning to drive.
The first grant has recently been awarded to 18-year-old Rebecca Black. She said:

Scottish Rural Action have a number of volunteering opportunities available.

You can help shape the National Transport Strategy review by taking part in an online survey.
The review of the National Transport Strategy will set out an updated vision for what kind of transport we want for the whole of Scotland in 20 years’ time and how we plan to get there. It will also look at how we can successfully address the strategic challenges facing our transport network and how we can make the most of the opportunities that present themselves.

Transport Scotland’s Low Carbon Travel and Transport Challenge Fund (LCTT Challenge Fund) is now open for applications.
The Energy Saving Trust has been appointed by Transport Scotland to administer the fund.
Public, community and third sector organisations can apply for funding under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2014-2020 Programme to facilitate the delivery of active travel and low carbon transport hubs.
Tyne Esk LEADER approved six projects in their first round of funding.
A total of £267,000 was awarded to the six projects, which include community, farm diversification and enterprise projects. The Tyne Esk LEADER programme covers Mid- and East Lothian.

Highland LEADER are encouraging potential applicants to come forward with their project ideas.
Funding of over £6.6 million is available for projects that will benefit communities through the area's LEADER programme, which covers the mainland Highlands, the Small Isles and Skye but excludes the city of Inverness and the Cairngorms National Park.

Scottish Rural Action have launched their full Manifesto for Rural Scotland.
The manifesto was released in draft form in September 2016 and was officially launched at the Scottish Rural Action AGM in Perth on 9 December.
During the second Scottish Rural Parliament event held in Brechin, Angus in October, delegates had the chance to propose changes to the wording and additions to the content of the manifesto before it was agreed on by those in attendance at the event.
