Summary of Project

To best utilise the Irish National Opera House which is based in Wexford Town, Co. Wexford, to facilitate workshops to promote learning and participation in the Arts, in reflection of the art forms, currently performed at the National Opera House, including (but not limited to) music, vocal, dance and drama.  This involves partnering with similar theatres/opera houses/arts centres in England, Scotland or Wales and the delivery of the programme through primary schools and community groups in these areas.

Planned activities are as follows:                                                                                       

  1. Promote and recruit the programme to primary schools and community groups in the areas involved.

  2. Host workshops both internally at the partnering theatres/opera houses/arts centres, to bring a greater degree of cultural education to young people, older people, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities and the greater community.Each workshop will be bespoke, taking into account the participants and cultural background of each area, and their specific key learning and participation objectives.

  3. The workshops will promote learning, creativity and development for the participants.The programme will encourage social inclusion and integration within thecommunities involved, through the various mediums proposed and will culminate in performances in each area.

We are looking for partners from Scotland, England and Wales
