All types of projects - no matter the size, location or technologies - are being encouraged to apply for the European Broadband Awards 2017.

If you're a public or private organisation involved in a project providing people with access to high-speed broadband internet you can apply.

The projects will apply to, and will be awarded in, one of the five categories:

  1. Innovative models of financing, business and investment
  2. Cost reduction and co-investment in a future proof infrastructure
  3. Territorial cohesion in rural and remote areas
  4. Socio-economic impact and affordability
  5. Openness and competition

The winners will be awarded by the European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society at the award ceremony on 20 November 2017 and showcased at the Broadband Day 2017 in Brussels. The winners will also be featured in DG Connect's website, newsletters and will be displayed in the good practice database of Broadband Europe.
