SCOTO is a network of community tourism enterprises located throughout Scotland and led by a team of dynamic individuals who each have extensive and varied experience in community tourism.

They are currently delivering a series of workshops, funded through the Scottish Government Rural & Island Communities Ideas into Action (RICIA) fund, across rural and island Scotland to communities who wish to develop their own local toursim strategy utilising local assets and attactions.

SCOTO have now organised their first Community Tourism Conference with a full day of inspiration, learning and conversations and which will celebrate SCOTO Network's mission to build the skills, connections and confidence of people working in community-led tourism.

Keynote speaker Calumn Maclean said:

"Tourism is the lifeblood for so many of our rural communities, and a definate force for good when those communities take the lead in shaping the visitor experience".

Six themed trips are available where participants will travel in groups to visit places across the Badenoch & Strathspey area and meet the locals behind innovative and inspiring community led tourism initiatives. Each trip will include speakers from elsewhere in Scotland with direct experience of the theme and will encourage everyone to share their own experiences, questions and ideas.

On the first day, The SCOTO Scottish Community Tourism Gathering 2023 will include inspirational speakers providing vital insights and valuable perspectives, as well as dedicated "SCOTO Gathering" networking sessions. The second day The SCOTO Scottish Community Tourism Learning Exchange 2023, is jam packed with unique learning exchange opportunities across Badenoch and Strathspey, with input from communities across Scotland.
