Applications are currently being accepted for the fourth round of SSE Renewable's Highland Sustainable Development Fund.

The fund is open to non-profit making organisations, community groups and charities across the Highland local authority region, with £1 million available.

Successful projects will have the potential to deliver transformational social, economic and environmental changes in the local area and support long-term community development.

Projects will also achieve one or more of the following priority themes:

  • Creating opportunities – increase opportunities for education and employment
  • Empowering communities – build resilience and protect vulnerable residents
  • Building sustainable places – stimulate meaningful community regeneration

Based on SSE Renewable's experience of recently operating the fund in other regions of Scotland, and on the high level of interest expressed prior to this funding round opening in the Highland area, they anticipate that the fund will be significantly oversubscribed.

The deadline for applications to be received is 12 Noon on 15 January 2020.
