Outside the Box vacancies

Outside the Box provides community development support to people and groups who want to make changes in their communities.

They are recruiting two part-time Development Workers who will each focus on the new Rural Wisdom project in a local area. This project is funded by The National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund.

They are also recruiting a full-time member of staff to work alongside a range of local groups and projects.

Project Officer - Cabrach Trust

Type: Full-Time, initial 12-month contract
Location: Moray
Salary: £20,000 - £22,000

The Cabrach Trust was established in 2011 in response to a need to preserve the rich cultural heritage of The Cabrach and its remote communities. In 2013 a gift from the William Grant & Sons Whisky families meant the Trust was able to take ownership of the historic Inverharroch Farm and its 170 acres of land.

The Trust is now looking for an enthusiastic and driven Project Officer to support the Executive Director and Trustees in their mission to breathe new life into The Cabrach.

As the successful candidate you will have an understanding of heritage and conservation and be familiar with the issues around the adaptive re-use of traditional buildings. Reporting to the Executive Director you will assist in the delivery of The Cabrach Distillery and Heritage Centre Initiative and the transformation of the Old School site into a new community and educational facililty. A self-starter with enthusiasm, commitment, resilience and flexibility, you will have the ability to work to strict deadlines to help deliver on these ambitious projects.

Volunteer Coordinator - Hospitalfield

Hospitalfield wish to appoint a creative individual with excellent communications skills who will work with them to devise, plan and lead the development of their volunteer programme as Volunteer Coordinator.

Dedicated to contemporary arts and ideas, Hospitalfield is a place to work, study, learn, visit and enjoy.

The aim of this new post is to develop a creative approach to the development of their existing volunteer programme. They wish to reach more people and to involve them in a series of projects that will make Hospitalfield more connected to the town of Arbroath, the region of Angus and the people living locally.

The successful candidate will develop strategies to sustain their current volunteer workforce, grow a larger cohort of volunteers with a wider reach, and involve more people in the activities at Hospitalfield.

Outer Hebrides LEADER - Project Support Assistant

You will provide administrative support to the Outer Hebrides LEADER and European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) Local Action Groups, the LEADER Co-ordinator and Development Officers, ensuring the effective delivery of the Outer Hebrides LEADER and EMFF Programme 2014-2020.

Duties include: establishing and maintaining robust administration and recording systems; working with complex spreadsheets and ledger systems to maintain and produce high quality financial and budgetary data; word processing, compiling and updating databases and spreadsheets; receipting, allocating and acknowledging correspondence; taking telephone calls, arranging meetings and travel bookings; updating OH LEADER website; supporting the development of marketing material and assisting with the delivery of events and networking opportunities throughout the islands; ensuring all LEADER grant claims are produced to required high standards and timescales; liaising with internal and external contacts.

Gorgie City Farm - Business Development Manager and Farm & Estates Assistant

Gorgie City Farm in Edinburgh is a free-entry community led initiative that aims to educate inner city children and adults about farming and food production. Gorgie City Farm is looking to grow its focus on social enterprise through expanding some of our existing micro enterprises, and launching new ones. They are excited to recruit for a Business Development Manager to join their team and help them take this forward.

They are also recruiting a Farm & Estates Assistant. This post will assist the Farm and Estates Manager in the day to day maintenance activity in all areas of the Farm, including the gardens; ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for all Gorgie City Farm animals, staff, volunteers and visitors; to assist with management of compost & waste systems; and to assist in movement of animals and delivery to customers.
