Agricultural Officer - Scottish Government

The Scottish Government are currently seeking applications for a Agricultural Officer within the Rural Payments and Inspections Division based in various locations across Scotland. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. 

Agricultural Officers are engaged in a wide variety of duties, many of an outdoor nature, which involve visits to farms and crofts and contact with the agricultural community.

Applicants should note that this role includes carrying out site visits to various types of agricultural establishments, often over extensive and difficult terrain and in all weather conditions. Experience of crossing this type of land and a willingness to undertake these visits are prerequisites for the post.

Chair of the Board - Highlands and Islands Enterprise

The Scottish Government are currently recruiting for the position of Chair of the Board for Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE). This is a high profile position and the Chair of HIE is expected to deliver active and dynamic leadership of HIE’s board. Working with the CEO and the wider organisation, the Chair will act as an ambassador for HIE and the region by building positive relationships of influence amongst the business community, politicians and wider stakeholder groups. The Chair must be able to develop and deliver the strategic vision and strategies and should be adept at operating and managing within a changing environment.

GrowBiz - Making Rural Business Digital (MRBD) - Contractor Opportunities

GrowBiz’s LEADER-funded project aims to provide the support rural enterprises need to sustain and grow, with a focus on digital routes to market, co-working spaces (enterprise ‘hotspots’), and digital upskilling. To successfully deliver this project we are recruiting additional self-employed contractors for the following roles:

MRBD Enterprise Facilitators

The post-holders will be experienced in, and passionate about, providing one to one enterprise support, information and coaching to people wishing to start-up or develop a business enterprise.  The facilitators will support the development of digital skills - including key areas such as marketing, finance, and product development, as well as personal development, business planning, identifying training needs, connecting with other local entrepreneurs and signposting to resources from external organisations and partners.  This role is part of the LEADER-funded GrowBiz project Making Rural Business Digital.

Guaranteed a minimum ten hours per month averaged over three months.  Maximum variable - up to 60 hours per month.

MRBD Digital Marketing Coordinator

This role requires someone who has experience in implementing marketing strategies using digital tools - including social media, websites, database communications and applications. It will require excellent communication skills and an understanding of the enterprise ecosystem in Scotland. It’s an exciting opportunity to contribute to GrowBiz’s Smart Village project. The role is part of the LEADER-funded GrowBiz project Making Rural Business Digital.

Minimum of 60 hours per month, based in Coupar Angus and other locations in Perth and Kinross.
