Outer Hebrides LEADER Coordinator

  • Location: Stornoway
  • Salary: £37,438-£40,795
  • Hours: 37 hours per week

Working within the Development Department, you will be responsible for co-ordinating the effective delivery of the Outer Hebrides LEADER and European Maritime & Fisheries Fund 2014-2020 (EMFF) Local Development Strategy and Business Plan. You will manage the LEADER team and administer the Programme on behalf of the Outer Hebrides LEADER and EMFF Local Action Groups.

Duties include reporting to the Local Action Group, the Comhairle, Scottish Government, European Union, Audit Scotland and other institutions and stakeholders; engaging with applicants, providing advice, assessing applications and preparing reports for consideration and formal decisions; developing cooperation and networking projects and opportunities locally and nationally; providing effective management of budgets relating to the LEADER Programme, ensuring all State Aid and Audit controls are adhered to, overall responsibility for financial and compliance management.

Regional Development Officers x 2 - RSABI

The rural charity RSABI is currently seeking two part-time Development Officers - one for the North East and one for the South West. RSABI provides financial assistance, support and a helpline to many hundreds of people with backgrounds in agriculture, forestry, fish farming, rural estate work, gamekeeping, crofting and horticulture.

These roles will help deliver RSABI’s priorities by:

  • increasing regular income from the Supporter Scheme to achieve long term growth and sustainability for the charity
  • increasing profile and awareness by organising regional events, facilitating fundraising and building close relationships with key stakeholders, influencers and volunteers

European Programmes Co-ordinator

An exciting opportunity to support the delivery of European funding programmes in North Aberdeenshire has arisen. The North East Scotland Fisheries Local Action Group (NESFLAG) has been established to support a range of industry and community projects in fishing communities from now until 2020. NESFLAG is being part-financed by the Scottish Government, the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund and the European Community LEADER 2014-2020 programme. 

Aberdeenshire Council is responsible for supporting NESFLAG in the management and delivery of these funds. This work is facilitated through a dedicated European Policy and Programmes Team.

The team is recruiting a European Programmes Co-ordinator who will be responsible for promoting and overseeing the delivery of European Maritime and Fisheries Funding to communities and businesses in the Aberdeenshire and Angus areas with Fisheries Local Action Group partners. They will encourage and support potential project applicants; process and evaluate project applications; and provide ongoing advice to external project managers.

In addition, the Co-ordinator will undertake project monitoring and evaluation; organise and undertake pre-completion visits and on-the-spot checks of projects; monitor and report on project and programme expenditure; assist with the submission of Scottish Government reports and arrange and participate in Fisheries Local Action Group meetings.
