Ardnamurchan Parish Church - Project Manager

A Project Manager is being sought to oversee the restoration of the Ardnamurchan Parish Church building.

The Kirk Session is seeking to appoint a suitable qualified and experienced consultant to act as Project Manager for the repairs and re-ordering. This will include finding and accessing funding bodies.

The Project Manager would be responsible for liaising with architects and contractors who would, initially, assess the necessary work, and then to oversee the work to completion. There would be liaison with the Kirk Session and a named person or working group assigned to have oversight of the project.

Kelvin Valley and Falkirk LEADER - Programme Manager

You will be responsible for delivering the Local Development Strategy of the Kelvin Valley & Falkirk LEADER Programme, employed by Falkirk Council on behalf of the Falkirk and Kelvin Valley LEADER Local Action Group (LAG). This will include supporting the LAG Board, assuring regulatory compliance at Scottish and European level and managing support to applicants to, and stakeholders in, the programme fund. The post will require a specific focus on community-led rural development. Kelvin Valley and Falkirk LEADER Local Action Group is being part-financed by the Scottish Government and the European Community LEADER 2014-2020 programme. Scottish Government - Plant Health Inspector - Winter (Perthshire, Angus & Fife)

We are currently seeking applications for a Plant Health Inspector - Winter (Perthshire, Angus and Fife) within the SGAFRC based in Perth.

You will be a member of a team of inspectors involved in the inspection of seed potato consignments and the drawing of soil samples from fields destined for seed potato production for the purposes of potato cyst nematode detection. The work will involve visiting farms and the inspection of seed potatoes. In carrying out inspections you must be proficient in the identification of faults and diseases found in potatoes and be familiar with the inspection tolerances. Findings must be recorded accurately and inspection reports completed in a neat and legible fashion.

In this key role you will work with account managed social enterprises to realise their growth aspirations, work closely with communities to help them become more resilient, and work on projects with clients and partner organisations. 

To be credible in this role you will bring strong communication, influencing and negotiating skills, experience of project appraisal as well as a strong interest in economic and community development.  Knowledge of the Caithness and Sutherland Area and the community and sectoral opportunities present within the area is also desirable.

The successful post holder may be located in either Golspie or Thurso. This is a part time job share post; the specific work pattern of 14 hours per week may be negotiated.

Scottish Natural Heritage - Operations Officer - Uist & Barra

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of Scottish Natural Heritage’s objectives within the Argyll and Outer Hebrides Unit. This post will principally deliver within Uist and Barra but will also support work in other parts of the Unit.

The post’s main areas of work will include the provision of advice on protected areas to local authorities, competent authorities and land managers. They will also carry out monitoring of protected areas; and advise on, and assess, agri-environment applications.

Design Team - The Eskdale Church Restoration Trust

The Eskadale Church Restoration Trust is seeking to engage consultants for the development work on our project through the submission to the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Grant for Places of Worship, Scotland scheme.

The consultants will need to have Conservation accreditation and recognised qualifications and experience on projects involving the repair of historic buildings, and familiarity with the requirements of the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The project for the repairs to St Mary’s, RC Church, Eskadale, initially to HLF Round 2, and if successful to completion of the repair works on site.

It is the intention to appoint an architect or building surveyor-led design team, for which the following specialist disciplines must be represented:

  • Architect or building surveyor (lead consultant)
  • Quantity surveyor

Appointed consultants will liaise closely with the Trust’s appointed project co-ordinator over supplying information to be submitted when the Round 2 (development phase) application is lodged with the HLF, and over drawing down grants, and managing levels of project contingency.

Global Education and Youth Officer - Highland One World

Highland One World is looking for an enthusiastic person with a background in education and experience of working with young people to join our energetic team in the role of Global Education and Youth Officer. The role will involve working to develop and deliver a new EU project called Start the Change!   

This project will focus on empowering young people aged 15-24 to learn about and take action on issues relating to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and migration.  The role will be mainly involve working with teachers, youth leaders, senior school pupils and young people within their youth groups.
