Scottish Crofting Federation - various posts

The Scottish Crofting Federation (SCF) are currently looking for Training and Development Managers and Training Administrators.

The SCF is the only member-led organisation dedicated to the promotion of crofting and is pleased to announce the start of a new Training Project beginning 1 July 2016. Skills Boost is a three-year project and they are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic staff to join their team. Applicants will need to be conversant with vocational rural training in the Highlands and Islands and a knowledge of working in third sector organisations would be advantageous. Past experience of managing and administering large European Projects is essential as is the ability to start employment on 1 July 2016.

Tyne Esk LEADER Programme Finance Support Officer

  • Location: Dalkeith
  • Salary: £24,439 - £26,711 per year
  • Hours: 36 hours per week

Based at Fairfield House, Dalkeith within the Council’s Economic Development Section, you will assist with the delivery of the Tyne-Esk LEADER Programme 2014/20 throughout the rural areas of East Lothian and Midlothian. In particular, you will assist with the development, implementation and management of a robust programme of monitoring, reporting and evaluation of the Programme’s physical and financial performance.

You will have experience of working in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders active in rural economic development. A first class communicator with strong interpersonal skills you will require a thorough understanding of the European and Scottish Government’s regulations underpinning the LEADER Programme together with the ability to manipulate and analyse large amounts of data.

Fife Council - Policy Co-ordinator

  • Location: Various Locations in Fife
  • Salary: £33,864 - £41,128 per year
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Contract Type: Fixed Term Position

You will be responsible for leading all aspects of programme management and delivery for the LEADER Strategy including programme and project development, engaging with rural communities, preparing and presenting progress reports and managing the overall programme budget of £3.4 million.

The LEADER Programme aims to enhance the quality of life in rural Fife by making a positive contribution towards creating an inclusive and sustainable local economy.

You should have experience of policy development implementation and evaluation as well as the ability to think strategically and be able to translate strategy into deliverable plans.

Experience of partnership working in the statutory or voluntary sectors is essential together with supporting/engaging with communities.

Community Woodland Officer - Community Woodlands Association

This is a new and exciting post. The Business Manager will be a member of Paths for All's Management Team. The post holder will lead on financial management, business and partnership development and oversee the work of our corporate services.

They are looking for someone with considerable experience in managing the finances of an organisation, business acumen and managing HR, IT, Administration services. You should be educated to degree level or equivalent in one of the above disciplines. A member of a relevant professional body would be advantageous.

D&G LEADER Project Officer (Temporary) - Day of the Region

LEADER is a rural development funding programme supporting rural communities across the EU. The current Dumfries & Galloway programme has secured £5.6million to invest into a diverse portfolio of grass-roots actions by local communities.

This post will focus on Day of the Region, a project within the main LEADER Programme in Dumfries & Galloway. We are seeking a confident and outgoing individual to support the LEADER Programme Manager and Local Action Group in the delivery of the Day of the Region project – a specific community and partnership project which has been delivered by D&G LEADER since 2011.

Grow Elgin Project worker

Crofting Commission - Communications Manager

The Crofting Commission is responsible for the Regulation of crofting, for maintaining records associated with the Register of Crofts and for advising Scottish Ministers on issues related to crofting.

Effective communication is essential if the Crofting Commission is to achieve its aim of effectively regulating crofting, to help create stronger, more resilient, sustainable and culturally rich communities, with well-managed landscapes.

The Communications Manager has a key role in supporting the Head of Team and the whole organisation, to achieve this aim. The role covers internal and external Communications but is primarily customer-facing, focussing on engagement with stakeholders to showcase the work of the Commission.

Bressay Development Ltd - Development worker

Soirbheas - Treasurer

Soirbheas, a Community Charity for Glen Urquhart and Strathglass, are seeking a new Treasurer to assist them as they develop. This is a paid role which is due to commence in early June 2016.

The post will require an experienced bookkeeper to undertake the preparation of draft accounts, produce an annual budget, quarterly treasurer’s report and quarterly funders reports, raising payments including grant awards and attending quarterly board meetings.
