The Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme (SBVS) aimed to help rural homes and businesses get superfast broadband is now live and open to applications.

To find out if you are eligible for a voucher, enter your details into the online checker. The online checker will confirm for you:

  • whether or not you already have the ability to order a superfast service;
  • whether or not you will receive a connection through the R100 contracts and, if so, when;
  • whether or not you will receive a connection through the R100 contracts and, if so, when;
  • whether or not you are eligible for a voucher through the SBVS and, if so, which voucher they will be eligible for

The voucher scheme will offer two distinct levels of subsidy:

  • A voucher worth up to £5,000 to help deliver a permanent broadband connection to those properties for which there is no roll-out of superfast broadband planned
  • A voucher worth up to £400 to help deliver an interim connection to those properties for which there is roll-out of superfast broadband planned, but not until after the end of 2021. Properties in more difficult-to-reach locations may be eligible for an additional subsidy of £250

In some cases, rural addresses may be eligible to combine Scottish Government funding of up to £5,000 with funding from the UK Government’s Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme (GBVS) which provides £1,500 for rural homes and £3,500 for rural businesses. If this is the case, chosen suppliers take this into account automatically and manage this on your behalf.
