Scottish Rural Action have launched their Action Plan, with key points in five areas they will be taking forward.

The Action Plan for 2017-19 will be progressed in rural Scotland by recruiting individuals and organisations to take part in voluntary working groups. The launch of the plan coincides with the start of Volunteers' Week Scotland (1 -7 June 2017).

National Coordinator of Scottish Rural Action, Emma Cooper, said:

"We are extremely grateful to our network of volunteers across rural Scotland for the hard work and determination they continue to provide to us.

"Our volunteers assist with many of our projects, including the biennial Scottish Rural Parliament and we are now looking for more volunteers to join our working groups to take forward our plan for rural Scotland over the next 3 years, and would actively encourage anyone with an interest in our working group subjects to come onboard to bring about positive change."

The five areas in the Action Plan are:

  • Business, Enterprise & Employment
  • Democracy & Governance
  • Digital Connectivity
  • Land
  • Transport

Scottish Rural Action are also in the process of developing an online volunteer forum and would be keen to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer as a moderator.

If you would like to join as a volunteer - either as part of a working group or as a moderator - email fiona@scottishruralparliament.org.uk to express and interest.

You can find the Action Plan on the Scottish Rural Action website.
