‘Awards Season 2017’ is well under way and New Lanark World Heritage Site has reason to celebrate.

The UNESCO World Heritage site is starting the year in style with a trio of awards. In February, Scotland’s inaugural Prestige Hotel Awards showcasing outstanding service within the hotel industry, awarded the New Lanark Mill Hotel the Front of House Team of the Year Award. Barely two weeks later at the annual Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards New Lanark beat off competition from two other finalists to receive The John Brinkins Award for Excellence in Tourism.

New Lanark Ice Cream has also been performing well in its own right by scooping four awards at the annual Ice Cream Alliance Awards in Harrogate including a Diploma of Merit in the Dairy Ice Cream Artisan Class.

Scott McCauley, New Lanark Trust Chief Executive said “We have approximately 165 staff working here at New Lanark in a very diverse range of activities, from running our Hotel to producing our award-winning Ice Cream and it’s fantastic to see their hard work being recognised on a national scale. As one of Scotland’s 6 UNESCO World Heritage Sites we’re committed to continually improving our services and products to provide a world-class experience for our visitors and guests”.
