People in Stranraer are being invited to have their say on a £5m funding bid to kickstart a radical transformation of the town’s economy, community services and local infrastructure. A draft Place Plan for Stranraer has been published which will shape the development of Stranraer over the next 10 years, and it’s now out for formal consultation.

The strategy, Everyone’s Story, outlines a vision for dementia policy over the next decade and identifies a number of priorities which would improve the lives of people living with dementia, their families and carers.

A programme to reduce the carbon footprint of NHS Scotland and enable more environmentally sustainable care has been launched.
The National Green Theatres Programme, developed by clinicians, will cut the high emissions and waste typically generated in surgery while maintaining the highest levels of patient safety and quality of care.

Scottish Rural Action (SRA) have announced that this year, the fifth Scottish Rural and Islands Parliament (SRIP) will take place from the 1st to the 3rd of November in Fort William at the Nevis Centre. This year's main theme is 'village halls and community spaces'.
Rural Affairs, Land Reform and Islands Secretary Mairi Gougeon has announced a £1 million increase to the Scottish Land Fund - a flagship scheme that helps communities take ownership of local land and buildings.
Ms Gougeon visited Granton Community Gardeners project, a previous recipient of support from the Fund.

NatureScot is working with Transport Scotland and Traffic Scotland to display warning messages on electronic variable message signs (VMS) in the areas of the highest risk between May 24 and June 14.
In recent decades, deer populations in Scotland have both increased in number and spread in range, particularly in urban areas and the central belt.
