No Health Without Oral Health

The Remote and Rural Healthcare Educational Alliance (RRHEAL) is part of NHS Education for Scotland, supporting inclusive access and at distance educational engagement.  RRHEAL develops educational tools and links to material specifically relevant to teams supporting health and social care for remote, rural and island populations of Scotland but they can also be applicable to community members. 

Session Descriptor

This session is online via Microsoft Teams and is aimed at members of the community and those working in health and social care and will cover the National Oral Health Improvement Initiatives with a particular focus on children's oral health experience across Scotland. 

We will also be highlighting the new online training which is available that provides free learning and development around the importance of:

• Toothbrushing, to improve oral health.
• Eating to improve oral health.
• Working with the community to improve oral health

• Consider oral health status of children on starting school
• Discuss the benefits fluoride toothpaste can have on the burden of dental caries
• Explain the key points when brushing with a fluoride toothpaste
