The first Scottish Screenwriters Festival (SSF) will be held on the on 13th & 14th of April, at Dakota Eurocentral, Motherwell.

Following the London Screenwriters Festival model, sessions will include panel discussions, 'how to's', workshops… script to screens… and of course, the elevator pitch! (You’ll have a chance to pitch to an exec on an elevator ride to the 3rd floor and back down and exchange business cards!)

Current confirmed speakers include producer & chair of the British Film Commission Iain Smith, Maureen Carr’s all women comedy group Witsherface and Douglas MacKinnon, showrunner of ‘Good Omens’, as a speaker (Douglas will do a script-to-screen overview of an episode).

There are 100 in-person tickets available, but as many online tickets as needed and SSF are keen that screenwriters from across rural and island Scotland have the opportunity to take part in the event.
