The world’s first rewilding centre has been opened near Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands by charity Trees for Life – showcasing how large-scale nature recovery can give people inspiring experiences, create jobs and benefit rural communities.

This event is being run jointly with Scottish Agritourism and Venture North with support from Highlands and Islands Enterprise. Grant-funded advice through Scotland’s Farm Advisory Service (FAS) is available to help farmers bring costs down for businesses and offer options for diversification. All grant options can be tailored to the needs of the individual business and will be delivered by a qualified adviser.

Scotland’s first array of floating solar panels will be installed this year as part of an innovative move to generate renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions.

The energy transition across the North East will be further boosted by £25 million from the Scottish Government’s Just Transition Fund.

The £500 million, 10-year Just Transition Fund was established to accelerate the energy transition in Aberdeen and the North East, and establish the region as a world-leader in the transition to a net zero economy.
