11th OECD Rural Development Conference: Enhancing Rural Innovation

The 11th OECD Rural Development Conference will bring together leading policy makers and experts to exchange experiences and good practices on issues related to innovation, including the development of policy related to technological change, and making the most of opportunities for job creation, economic growth, and service delivery.
The format of the meeting will be geared towards lively and direct interactions among participants. We will focus on the implementation of better policies for rural regions. A series of pre-conference events and field visits linked to the themes described in the agenda will be open to participants.
The conference is hosted by the Scottish Cabinet for the Rural Economy and Connectivity, in close cooperation with the Scottish Enterprise Agency and the Highlands and Islands Enterprise Agency. The event is also being supported by the European Commission and the United Kingdom’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
