Location

Carrick Rugby Football Club are constantly engaging with their local community, which includes team players, parents, supporters, committee members, trustees and sponsors.

Having centralised club transport means that all the volunteers from both on and off the pitch can travel together, increasing the feeling of community and giving the club a very high retention rate of volunteers across the board. Funding is helping to support the transport costs and reduce the clubs carbon footprint.

The funding forms part of the Scottish Government Community Led Local Development (CLLD) funding allocation to the Ayshire Local Action Group (LAG). The LAG is a group of representatives from the local area so its decision making is bottom up.  With this funding, the LAG runs the Ayrshire Rural and Islands Ambition (ARIA) Fund, which is administered by South Ayrshire Council. Additionally, a Fund Co-ordinator supports the applicant through the process to assist and help with any concerns or questions.
