This two-year project aims to improve the coastal paths and woodland of Kinneil Estate in Bo'ness by establishing it as a key visitor attraction. Work will involve upgrading key tourist routes throughout the estate including the John Muir Way and the National Cycle Route.

The project is being delivered by The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) and supported by Falkirk Community Trust and Falkirk Council’s Employability Training Unit, and for the next 18 months these young apprentices will learn on the job in a range of estate maintenance tasks and projects, in addition to attending Oatridge College to study towards a SVQ level 2 in Environmental Conservation.

The project was awarded £298,241 by the Coastal Communities Fund. TCV is also grateful to Scottish Natural Heritage and the Scottish Government for its funding through their annual framework agreement which supports core costs and the development of projects in their annual workplan.
