The Rural Perth & Kinross LEADER team is delighted to announce the launch of the Rural Perth & Kinross LEADER Awards 2020.  These awards aim to recognise and celebrate the achievements of projects in the 2014 - 2020 LEADER Programme.

Project teams and members of the community who have been involved in projects are invited to submit their entries by 6th March if they want to be in with a chance of being shortlisted in one of the six award categories;

The Cairngorms National Park Authority with the support of partners Scottish Forestry, Scottish Natural Heritage and Woodland Trust – is offering grants of up to £3,000 to help reduce the cost of developing woodland creation proposals within the Cairngorms National Park.

An upcoming Scottish Rural Action conference will kick start a 'rural movement' to make rural Scotland's voice heard.

Representatives from rural Scotland's communities, businesses and organisations are invited to attend the free event taking place from 26 to 27 February at New Lanark Visitor Centre, the renowned world heritage site.

The Scottish Government has launched a public consultation on European Territorial Cooperation programmes 2021-2027.

European Territorial Cooperation (otherwise known as Interreg) programmes are EU funding programmes that give money to organisations from different countries to work together on a project.

Crowdfund Scotland Workshop | South Lanarkshire

This will be an introductory session suitable for anyone who wants to find out more about this method of fundraising and the potential uses for local projects.

Strathnaver Museum has been announced as a recipient of £650,000 in grant funding from the Natural and Cultural Heritage Fund. The Redevelopment of Strathnaver Museum as a heritage hub for north west Sutherland project will improve the visitor experience, secure the existing museum collections, conserve the historic church building and improve access to its heritage resources.

Moray LEADER and Windswept Brewing Co have been working in cooperation with Belgian farming and brewing partners to develop a new product line, which will be brewed with ingredients grown in Moray. The project is funded through Moray LEADER and GAL Burdinale-Mehaigne; a LEADER territory in Wallonia, Belgium.

The project aims to create a short supply chain between locally based farmers and breweries. The aim is to enhance product and produce value and reduce carbon emissions to help create sustainable locally economies.

A project which aims to keep calves with their mothers for longer is among those that will share more than £340,000 of investment.

Awarded through the Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Fund (KTIF), the new funding will drive forward innovation in farming and food production and help businesses shift to a low carbon climate-resistant economy.

The Rare Invertebrates in the Cairngorms (RIC) project has won a UK National Parks Volunteer Award. TV presenter and explorer Paul Rose presented project officer Gabrielle Flinn with the award at the Kendal Mountain Festival in November.  The awards were sponsored by Columbia Sportswear.
