Ambitious plans to create a major new renewables hub in Orkney have been accelerated with a £5 million grant to help take the project to the next stage.
The funding will further the development of a new harbour facility for the assembly of offshore wind turbines at Scapa Flow - the largest natural harbour in the northern hemisphere.

An interactive map showing information about publicly owned land, as well as land managed by Scottish Crown Estate, has been created.
The public land map allows anyone to view the location and range of much of the public land in Scotland. Users can explore information on individual land parcels, including its ownership and size.
Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) has welcomed local business, The Gin Bothy, as the first commercial enterprise to move into Glen Prosen.
The announcement follows an extensive consultation process that included taking expressions of interest to find suitable uses for the various estate buildings.
