11am – Welcome and Introductions
11:05am – Engaging Rural Young People in Health Research Dr Zhuoni Xiao, University of Edinburgh and Sarah Robertson, Generation Scotland share key findings from Generation Scotland and the progress of the Loneliness in the Digital World study: including future opportunities for young people and organisations, engagement barriers and solutions & the importance of including under-represented young people in research.
12 noon – Beat Eating Disorders, BEAT – Alex Jones, National Lead Scotland
The prevalence and severity of eating disorders has increased dramatically in Scotland since the pandemic, but these complex mental illnesses are often misunderstood. Early intervention is important for recovery, but for many people years pass between becoming unwell and starting treatment.
Beat is the UK’s leading eating disorder charity. In this presentation Beat staff will give an introduction to eating disorders, look at the current situation in Scotland and share information on services and resources available.
