The evening will include a diverse panel of community activists, academic and community landowners, alongside music and spoken word. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion from the audience as we untangle the complex picture of landownership in Glasgow.

This event is part of the Simon Fraser Memorial Series 2024, part of Linn an Fhearainn / 100 Years of Community Ownership. The series focuses on the stories of community owners, the change they created, and how their legacy might shape the future. It pays tribute to the memory of Simon Fraser, a solicitor and pioneer of land reform in Scotland. Simon was instrumental in the success of some of the early community buyouts including Eigg, Knoydart and Gigha as well as the Assynt Crofters buyout

The series launched in January 2024 with the Simon Fraser Memorial Lecture, held at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh. Additional events are being hosted by the Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust, the Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust, Urras an Taobh Sear / Staffin Community Trust, Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn / Galson Estate Trust, the Community Land Trust Network, and Community Land Scotland.
