National Convention of Youth Drama
Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling
Youth Theatre Arts Scotland is proud to present Scotland’s first ever National Convention of Youth Drama in partnership with Macrobert Arts Centre and in celebration of Scotland’s Year of Young People 2018.
Last year Oxford Dictionaries selected ‘Youthquake’ – a significant cultural, political, or social change arising from the actions or influence of young people – as their word of the year. In support of the current youthquake, the National Convention of Youth Drama invites you to join us to explore the role that drama and theatre can play in enriching young people’s lives.
This two-day gathering of passionate and curious thinkers, doers and makers from the arts, community and education sectors aims to; inspire new ideas, spark epiphanies, foster debate, share skills and connect new partners.
We will work together to imagine, define and start to build the future sector we want for our young people. One in which they can grow and flourish as critical and creative thinkers, confident leaders and valuable contributors to their own communities.
We look forward to welcoming you to be a part of this unique and vital event.
The Convention will cater for:
- Drama workshop leaders and assistants (voluntary and professional)
- Primary and secondary drama teachers
- Youth workers and community learning professionals
- Theatre practitioners
- Further and higher education students of drama, teaching or the performing arts
