Next week will see a workshop held in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire (Thainstone House Hotel, 25th October) as part of a series of eight face to face events which will support Scottish Government’s consultation process to develop a new Agriculture Bill.

This will be followed by an online virtual event on the 27th October which will focus on Rural Development and Forestry with a further three thematic events to follow.

The series of consultation events will continue over the next five to six weeks after initial events were held in Inverness and Portree, Skye in early October.

The new Scottish agriculture bill will cover a wide range of issues concerning not just rural and island communities but the whole of Scotland. Measures proposed will support how we address climate change and increased biodiversity.  It will also cover Rural Development, which was previously championed by LEADER funding, and forestry.

If you have an interests in these areas then you have an opportunity to take part in the future Scottish agriculture bill consultation program.
