Roadshows on Agricultural Holdings will give landlords and tenants the opportunity to find out more about joint industry initiatives in tenant farming.

Five public events from Kelso to Inverness have been announced, with further meetings being planned for 2016.

The roadshows are industry-led and supported by the Scottish Government. At each event, industry advisers will explain the work being carried out to develop Joint Industry Guidance and to help landlords and tenants with a range of issues including rent reviews, tenant’s improvements and landlord’s and tenant’s obligations.

Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Food and the Environment Richard Lochhead said:

"These road shows are the ideal opportunity for tenants and landlords to find out about the initiatives Andrew Thin, the Scottish Governments Independent Tenant Farming Adviser has been working on together with our key stakeholders and I would encourage all those with an interest to attend.

"Andrew, together with representatives from Scottish Land & Estates, Scottish Tenant Farmers Association and the National Farmers Union of Scotland will be on hand to answer your questions."

Andrew Thin, Independent Tenant Farming Adviser said:

"In most cases the partnerships between landlords and tenants that underpin tenant farming work well, but in a few cases relationships are not as constructive and collaborative as they need to be. The purpose of the Joint Industry Guidance is to provide a clear framework which will help to eliminate this sort of problem and ensure balance, mutual respect and a modern 21st century approach to these relationships."

The meetings will all be held between 7 and 9pm at the following locations:
