Competition aims to improve Argyll & Bute's Perfect Picnic Spots

Scottish Rural Network

Do you have a favourite picnic spot in Argyll and Bute? Is there something that could be done to make it even better?

The charity act and Food from Argyll's Perfect Picnic competition is offering you the chance to win £100 to enhance your favourite place for a picnic and receive a hamper filled with local produce.

To be in with the chance of winning, organise a picnic at your favourite spot and share what you’d do with £100 to make it even more perfect!

Julie Young, Development Officer for act, says, "The money is to be spent on making a positive difference to a place people love in Argyll . Whether it’s to arrange a litter-pick, repair a bench or provide a bird table – we don’t mind as long as it enhances the area. We will be awarding twenty prizes of up to £100 to the people who give us the best suggestions and we’re really looking forward to hearing what people come up with.”

Food from Argyll are providing the ultimate prize – a picnic hamper filled with local produce from businesses in Argyll and the Isles. They’ll also be providing plenty of picnic tips via online channels including the best spots to visit and the best local food treats to enjoy along the way.

Katie Ritchie, from Food from Argyll said, "We were really keen to get involved in this project – not only is it such a positive cause but it also supports our main aim which is to encourage local people to enjoy local produce."

The Perfect Picnic will run throughout the months of June, July and August. More information, including how to enter, can be found on the act website.
