Funding for youth groups to enjoy hostel trips

Youth groups, primary schools, secondary schools and colleges working with disadvantaged young people can now apply to receive a funded residential trip to a Hostelling Scotland Youth Hostel of their choice.

Hostelling Scotland's Explorer Fund gives young people in Scotland the opportunity to have a break away and discover Scotland through a funded residential trip.

Supported by membership contributions, the Explorer Fund was launched in 2018 and has been a great success, with over 70 groups taking part in funded trips.

In the past year schools and groups including Castelbay School on the Western Isles, Langlees Primary in Falkirk, DD8 Music in Angus and Build-Up Youth Group in Aberdeenshire all enjoyed fantastic trips away.

The deadline for applications is February 28 2020. This is for trips taking place anytime up until 31 January 2021.
