People involved in the seafood industry are being encouraged to take part in an online survey as part of a study on gender inequality in the industry.

The survey is being carried out by WSI - the International Association for Women in the Seafood Industry.

In the introduction to the online survey, WSI highlight that one in two seafood workers is a woman but women are over-represented in low-skilled low-paid positions and they count for less than 10 percent of company directors and 1 percent of Chief Executive Officers.

The results of the study will be shared with the seafood industry in February 2018.
