New Community Cycling Fund
The fund has been developed to create a national celebration of cycling across all of Scotland’s 32 Local Authority areas in the build up to the UCI Cycling World Championships in August 2023 in order to create a lasting benefit for communities across the country from the event.
Delivered in partnership between EventScotland, sportscotland and the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, the fund aims to engage new audiences to participate in organised and inclusive cycling activity and events, with a focus on engaging under-represented groups, including children and young people, girls and women.
There are two separate funding opportunities to help deliver new and additional cycling opportunities:
- The first opportunity is the development strand, designed to support activities encouraging people to get involved in cycling, which will be administered by sportscotland and is open to community organisations and charities.
- The second strand will be administered by EventScotland and will support organisations who are planning to deliver cycling activity and events in the build up to the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships. Non-Local Authority organise
Grants of between £5,000 - £15,000 are available and the deadline for Expressions of Interest is 5pm on Monday 20 June 2022.
