Perthshire Artisans, the curated platform for the region’s creative talent, is marking its first anniversary with the addition of a further 10 new members joining the site.

Developed by specialist rural enterprise agency GrowBiz, Perthshire Artisans promotes the region’s diverse range of creative talent, enabling local artists and creatives to find new markets as well as getting business support and providing a community amongst the artists themselves. Originally launched with 9 artisans in July 2020, the site now features 28  diverse, carefully curated creatives from across the region, ranging from classical painters, photographers and textile designers to glass artists, illustrators, contemporary artists, candlemakers and jewellers.

Jackie Brierton, CEO at GrowBiz  said; “Our vision for Perthshire Artisans was to bring together the region’s diverse range of creative talent, help to tell their stories and provide a route to market. We are delighted to be adding a further 10 artisans to the site, which provides a focus for the creative process and the wealth of talent which is here in the very heart of Scotland. At a time when we need to shop local and focus on sustainability, Perthshire Artisans is a unique resource for anyone looking to enjoy a bit of creative Perthshire, wherever they are in the world.”

New creatives to have just joined Perthshire Artisans include Perth based jeweller, Diana Law from Diana King Jewellery, “I am so happy to be a part of this new growing community, and to have a chance to share my new designs and contemporary jewellery with a wider audience. Making soothes my soul, sharing makes me happy!”

With the 10 new artisans having joined Perthshire Artisans, the site now offers over 260 unique products, crafted by hand in one of the most stunning corners of Scotland.

Caron Ironside, Perthshire Artisans Enterprise Facilitator, concluded; “Perthshire Artisans is a unique platform for creatives, with equal value placed on the artisan and their practice, their incredible and original creations and the stunning place in which they choose to live and work. Having a dedicated online destination like this enables consumers to access ‘off the beaten track’ creativity, connect with the values of the artist, their inspirations and process, in one online marketplace.”
