Are you an individual or group concerned about climate change and thinking about ways to make a difference in the place where you live? Do you want to organise a climate event in your community?

Scotland's Climate Festival supports communities across the country to plan and deliver their own local climate festivals, alongside a national programme of events.

Each festival will have its own distinctive shape and flavour, drawing on the creativity, connections, skills and interests of its community. It can be online or physical, a single activity or five days of events – or anything in between! The festivals will provide engaging, fun and practical content designed to reach a wide cross section of the community using a mix of practical workshops, artistic and cultural events and community conversations.

Joining Scotland's Climate Festival is a great way to draw attention to your local event and get your community excited about tackling climate change and supporting Scotland's transition to net zero. You will join a network of groups inspiring their communities on climate change, creating connections across Scotland. You'll get expert support to help you organise and promote your local event in your community and the chance to work with national agencies, such as Sustrans, Zero Waste Scotland and Community Energy ScotlandAnd the best content and stories from local festivals will be shared nationally.

Thanks to the Scottish Government, seed funding of between £100-£500 is available to help local organisers set up community climate festivals and events taking place between 1 November 2021 and 31 March 2022. Applications are especially welcomed from smaller organisations and groups that are interested in starting a new climate event in their local community, or in getting their fledgling event to the next stage. Decsions are made on a rolling basis so apply now.
