A new Farmers' Market in Kinross will take place for the first time on 30 April.

The new initiative is organised by Kinross-shire Local Events Organisation (KLEO) and will see the Kinross Farmers' Market take place on the redeveloped High Street on every fifth Saturday of a month in 2016.

The dates are 30 April, 30 July and 29 October, from 9am to 1pm.

The High Street will remain open for traffic during these markets with the stalls situated on the wider pavement area adjacent to the old Town Hall.  Organisers are certain that this will be a positive and exciting addition to Kinross which will enhance the High Street and encourage local and neighbouring residents to buy, not only from the market, but also local shops.

The following traders will have a stall at the market on 30 April:  Allan's Chilli Products, Angel Cakes, Arbroath Fisheries, Arran's Cheese Shop, Good-Life Farming (veal), Hunters of Kinross (butchers), Little Gairdrum Farm (vegetables), Loch Leven's Smokehouse (fish / meat), Meadowsweet Organics (salads, herbs, flowers), Milnathort & Kinross Allotments Association, Olives and Thingz, Perthshire Oatcakes, Seriously Good Venison, St Andrew's Brewing Company, RSPB Scotland,  The Shire (deli), Val's Tablet Treats, Webster Honey,  and KLEO will be doing a coffee/tea stall.

Visitors will be able to buy high quality, fresh food from local producers and artisan traders offering a wide variety of products. The producers themselves run their own stalls so you can come and speak directly with them, asking them questions about their produce and purchase fresh quality products.

If you are a local farmer or a local trader you might consider a stall at the Kinross Farmers' Markets in the futire.  For more information and for booking a stall, please e-mail info@kleo.org.uk or visit www.kleo.org.uk

Kinross Farmers' Market is supported by the Community Food Fund, which is financed by The Scottish Government and has been created to promote local food and drink, in line with Scotland’s National Food and Drink Policy.
