Rural Crime Prevention Day

Members of Scottish Partnership Against Rural Crime
Date:
Wednesday 23 November 2016 - 09:00 to 15:00
Venue:

Dingwall Auction Mart, cafe area

Organiser:
Police Scotland

The event is being co-ordinated by Wildlife Crime Liaison Officer PC Dan Sutherland and will see Constables from Road Policing Unit, Representatives from NFU, Crimestoppers, and CESAR (Construction Equipment Security and Registration) coming together to provide information and advice on all aspects of rural security and crime prevention.

The CESAR Scheme is the only official Police CPI and HO approved plant and equipment registration scheme. The CESAR scheme was designed by Police Officers working in partnership with the Construction and Agricultural industries to provide Police on the street an easy simple and effective way to identify all manners of machinery and equipment. The criteria is such that the CESAR database operates on secure systems to the same level as both the Police and Home Office systems.

Constable Dan Sutherland said:

"Police and partners are looking forward to meeting members of the local farming and rural community with a view to helping them keep their properties and equipment safe and secure.

"Rural crime can have a devastating effect on the livelihood of those unfortunate enough to be targeted so by offering advice on the most up to date security techniques we will hopefully reduce instances of rural crime in the far north."
