Please see video link here where Trish Gray, Interim Head of Programme, for the Remote and Rural Healthcare Education Alliance (RRHEAL) gives an overview of the Festival of Learning that is supporting the development of the National Centre for Remote and Rural Health and Social Care (originally named The Centre of Excellence) taking place from 19 September through to 30 September 2022 in the Isle of Skye, Portree.  

The Festival of Learning (FOL) will support with the development of the National Centre by bringing together the health and social care workforce, as well as community members to deliver a diverse range of multiagency models of health and social care, practice, education, training, and digital innovation. 

Trish highlights that she has had an incredibly supportive response from stakeholders in supporting the festival with education, training and digital innovation and reminds all of us to promote the Festival of Learning to family, friends, and colleagues nationally and internationally. 

Please note, in-person/online learning is available for all stakeholders, some examples are listed below, though do look at the programme for the full training availability

  2. Improving Remote & Rural Recruitment and Retention  
  3. Pharmacy – clinical decision making 
  4. Recognising the need for education around death and bereavement 
  5. Creating person centred organisations 
  6. Communicating in Microsoft 365 
  7. Sharing Knowledge and Educational Resources to Support the Scottish Neuroprotection Care Pathway (NCP) for Infants with Hypoxic-Ischaemic Encephalopathy (HIE)

  • Creating conditions for flow and recovery in purpose-based work, the deliberate dairy 
  • Social care as a human right – a vison for a National Care Service 
  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Healthcare Professionals: an interactive workshop 
  • Introducing Scotland’s National Bereavement Charter for Adults and Children 
  • NHS Highland Telecare Service and Assistive Technology 
  • Supporting the Person Living with Dementia at Home
