Agroforestry and farm woodlands: Managing your trees

Treeline is a family-run forestry business based on a Pentland hill farm near West Linton in the Scottish Borders, who provide woodland management and contracting services as well as supplying high quality woodfuel and forestry machinery.     

Join them or a farm walk (followed by hot soup) to hear from farmer-foresters Gavin and Nick Marshall on topics including: 

• multiple uses and benefits of trees to a farm business 
• what to consider when planning and planting new farm woodland; infrastructure considerations 
• management options and considerations for existing farm woodland 
• machinery and equipment for managing farm woodland/ forestry.  

Hot lunch included. 

FREE and open to farmers, crofters, land managers and foresters. 

This event is part of part of a new farmer-led knowledge exchange programme, Agroecology: Strengthening Livelihoods, which we are working on with Nourish Scotland, Landworkers’ Alliance, Pasture for Life, the Nature Friendly Farming Network and Propagate.
